TWO OF MY FRIENDS MET PATSY THIS WEEK!

Travis Embling and Corrine Hurley had the pleasure to join some of the cast members from Prisoner at their reunion a couple of days ago (and Patsy sent me her best!). Travis called Patsy "the highlight of the night", so I guess she was just as wonderful at this party as she was at the 30th Anniversary.

TODAY IT'S TWO YEARS AGO SINCE I MET THE DIVINE!

And here's a divine clip from Power Without Glory.

LET ME WISH PATSY AND ALL HER FANS...

...A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YAR!

TODAY IT'S ONE YEAR AGO...

...since I met The Divine Patsy King. I still can't believe that it actually did happen. Some days, your prayers do come true. I had dreamed of meeting The Gov for years and years -and Patsy lived up to all my expectations (and exceeded them)! I wish I could celebrate in style in Melbourne, but for now I have to be satisfied with going to the supermarket to buy some lemon ice cream (that's the flavor of Oz if you ask me).

MAY I REMIND YOU ALL...

...to listen to this wonderful interview with The Divine Patsy King. May I also recommend You to download it and save it on Your computer: It's much easier listening to the interview on a daily basis that way.

That is all. You may go.

OF COURSE I BOUGHT SOME FABULOUS PATSY PICTURES FROM FIONA AND GERARD IN BIRMINGHAM:

TODAY IT'S SIX MONTHS....

FIONA SPENCE MENTIONED PATSY IN A NEW INTERVIEW IN THE PINK MAGAZINE:

"She was in Sydney and came over – I love Patsy, we call her Peppermint – for lunch, she’s just great, she’s so much fun, but very nervous about reunions. Even the Melbourne one, and she lives there! Well she came and she worked tirelessly all day, she signed thousands of autographs but she said she had a good time. She’s great. I don’t think you’ll be seeing her in England though."

PATSY GOES SHOPPING IN ADELAIDE:

The magazine is from 1983 - just before Erica's return as "Head".

ASK EVA ABOUT PATSY

Yeah: It's that time again!

Johanna asks: - Have you found out how old Patsy is?
Eva: - No, I'm afraid I havn't! Some pages on the internet says that she was born in 1929, but I'm sure that's not true! I'd say she's about 5-10 years younger than that!

Sarah asks: - Have you seen Patsy in any other shows or movies?
Eva: - I bought Power Without Glory about 17 months ago. I love that series! It must be one of the best TV shows ever made, and Patsy is adorable as Vera Maguire! I've also seen her in Prisoner In Concert and, of course, in some interviews.

C M asks: - Do you have any favourites among her co-stars in Prisoner?
Eva: - Jude Kuring, Fiona Spence, Betty Lucas, Sheila Florance, Jane Clifton, Gerard Maguire.

Bert asks: - What did you think of her return as "Head"?
Eva: - That it was great to see a good looking woman on the show again (ok: her new hairstyle was horrible - but so what?)!

Nina asks: - Do you know what her favourite colour is?
Eva: - No, I don't. But she sure looks good in white, doesn't she?
This was the last Ask Eva About Patsy. But if You have any questions (or something specific that You want me to bring up) - just send me an email!

ASK EVA ABOUT PATSY

Nina asks: - Please, tell us something about "the story behind": How did you get involved in this woman in the first place?

Eva: - Well...I first saw her on TV in the mid 90's (when they aired Prisoner for the first time here in Sweden). I guess it was love at first sight haha. She really stood out in the crowd. I've always loved extreme TV characters: I guess it wasn't any surprise, to people who know me, that I should fall for the poshiest lady on the show (Erica) and the craziest prisoner of them all (Noeline).

It did take me a couple of years to become a real "Erica freak": it wasn't until 2002 that I started to buy "Patsy stuff" on the internet and started to search for any gossip I could find. It was also around that time that I became involved with other Prisoner fans.

Johanna asks: - Did you see any similarities between Patsy and Erica?

Eva: - They are both very elegant and extremely pretty! But Patsy has a greater sense of humour than Erica (Erica was mostly funny without knowing it). Patsy also giggles a lot more than Erica (and that's absolutely adorable)!

Steve asks: - Do you have any favourite scenes with Erica?

Eva: - I love her clashes with Vera! I'm also crazy about the scenes where she sits at home moping - wearing her fabulous dresses! The scenes between her and Ted Douglas are also big favourites of mine!

Sandra asks: - Is it true that Patsy was thinking about becoming a missionary in her youth?

Eva: - I think so. I remember reading about it in a magazine some years ago.

David asks: - How do you prefer Erica's hair?

Eva: - Flowing!

That's all for now. I hope you'll have some more questions in store for me next week!

ERICA AND VERA!

The scenes between these two characters are larger than life! I can watch them over and over again! I love the chemistry between Patsy and Fiona: their comic timing couldn't be any better. I's amazing how Erica always looks tired every time that Vera opens her mouth. And their shouting matches are, of course, real classics! Erica's naivity and Vera's cynicism are two of the funniest elements of the show, and when their ideas clashes it feels like heaven for the viewer!

IT'S BEEN TWO MONTHS...

...since I met this adorable lady! I will never forget the moment when Jane Clifton said "and then we have The Governor" - and Patsy walked into the tent! I had waited many years to meet her, but believe me: it was worth the wait! What a wonderful dame she is!

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBE VIDEOS:

WELCOME BACK!!!

As I'm sure you all noticed, I had to close down the old blog due to technical problems. But now I'm back, and this time I'm staying for good!
Very well...
Things have happened since I last bloged: I've actually met Patsy in real life!!! You know: meeting one of your favourite actors can be like an amazing dream or a dissapointing nightmare. Meeting Patsy was a truly unforgettable experience - in a very positive and dreamlike way! She was sooo lovely and sooo much fun! I'll probably tell You more about it later...
Now, may I remind You all that Patsy King trained at the Melbourne National Theatre as a Shakespearean actress. Her stage credits include big parts in Agnes Of God, Blithe Spirit, Half A Sixpence, Love For Love, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, Absurd Person Singular and A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur. She earned the prestigious Erik Award for her portrayal of Agnes in Fourposter. In 1989, Patsy did a tour of Prisoner Cell Block H: The Stage Play across theatres in the United Kingdom. Her television and film credits include roles in Prisoner (a.k.a Prisoner Cell Block H), Power Without Glory, Homicide, Division 4, Hunter, Bellbird, The Sullivans, Out Of Love, Chopper Squad, Bluey, Good Morning Mr Doubleday, The Long Arm, Matlock Police, Dynasty and The Journey. But You all knew that already, didn't you?!
Now to something you don't know: for the next two weeks, I'm going to have an Ask Eva About Patsy session. You can email me, any day of the week, and ask me anything you want (see my email address to the left). I'll then pick out about 5 questions each Friday, and post the answers on this blog. So email me, Folks! Email me!
